Don't Broadcast Yourself: turning off features that publish your Youtube Activity

Anyone who goes to your "Channel" page on Youtube, that is, the personal page you have if you hold a user account with Youtube, can see what you have "liked", commented upon, added to a playlist, and so on, if you do not disable these "features": it is the sort of thing that for privacy's sake and care for users' one would think they would provide disabled by default, and require users to opt-in, though of course that might be rather simple of me to expect given the slogan is "Broadcast Yourself"; Facebook may take a lot of flack on privacy concerns, but Youtube seems not to since it says up-front what it is about!
