Determining What Version or Type of Windows You Have

This is for users of Windows 7, and may apply--albeit without the start button and menu steps--beyond. It is a short little post made solely that I may link to it from another post, rather than including that information here. To find whether your system is a 32 or 64 bit system:
  1. Click the "Start" button (Icon) in the lower-left of your screen (presuming you haven't moved the taskbar or changed the default interface settings to Windows).

  2. Right-click on "Computer" and select "properties".

  3. Look for "System Type": by mine it says "64-bit operating system". Whatever you find next to there, is your system type. I've put a box around the relevant field here:
