User Advocacy - FSF anti-DRM Campaign

While
the FSF is known for being too reactionary, too ideological, etc., this particular campaign of theirs is worth attention:

" What is DRM? Digital Restrictions Management. DefectiveByDesign.org is a broad-based anti-DRM campaign that is targeting Big Media, unhelpful manufacturers and DRM distributors. The campaign aims to make all manufacturers wary about bringing their DRM-enabled products to market. DRM products have features built-in that restrict what jobs they can do. These products have been intentionally crippled from the users' perspective, and are therefore "defective by design".
"

The trouble with things like DRM is the public informers, the media, have high stakes in NOT informing or carefully considering the topic objectively and morally; they give not reason, nor are rational, only speak of protecting their 'property', as if facts and ideas can be propertized, or compositions which the law does not, in fact, consider property, but rather only reserve for a limited time (not right now, however) who has rights to determine copies--but not restricting legal uses (certain technologies and pieces of legislation are not constitutional, by removing the means to exercise rights); or business models, as if the law is for them and such, instead of justice (adapt or die); or revenue, as if the law is to ensure payment to a business, rather than prosecuting actual injustices vs. fabricated crimes, e.g. it is not by redefining theft, property, and permitting restrictions on information freedom, that law permits these businesses and their interests to be perpetuated.
